A vote yes is a vote for strong schools and a strong community.
On November 3, Alexandria voters will decide on the Cardinal Community Plan — an operating levy referendum that would help protect the people, programs, and opportunities our students rely on while bringing more state education dollars back to our community.

We are a citizen organization made up of parents, business owners, and community members who are committed to ensuring a good education and bright future for the children of the Alexandria School District (ISD 206).
Our schools are facing continued financial pressure, and without additional funding, future cuts could impact class sizes, staffing, student services, programs, and opportunities across the district.
The Cardinal Community Plan gives us a chance to protect what makes our schools strong while taking advantage of new state funding available to our community.

Learn about your voting options and make a plan. Whether you vote absentee, vote early in person, or cast your ballot on Election Day, here’s what you need to know.
Absentee Voting
Absentee voting begins Friday, September 18, 2026. Request a ballot to vote by mail or in person.
Early Voting
Early in-person voting begins Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Douglas County Auditor–Treasurer Office.
Election Day Voting
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
Polls are open on Election Day from 7am to 8pm.

"Voting YES on this year’s referendum is more important than ever. I’ve seen firsthand how much our schools do for students beyond academics. The positive impact that teachers, staff, and programs have had on my son's growth, confidence, and overall development cannot be measured in dollars and cents. Expecting our district to maintain the same high-quality staff, student supports, and educational opportunities while facing a significant financial deficit is neither realistic nor sustainable. Our children only get one chance at their education. Shouldn't that experience include great teachers, meaningful programs, and the support they need to reach their full potential?
